Learning to Teach Program
Current AVUHSD paraprofessionals are encouraged to contact Jennifer Nieves at (661) 948-7655 ext 315 for information on the Teacher Track Program. The Teacher Track program is a career ladder designed to obtain Special Education Teachers from current in-house staff. The program offers appropriate coursework through approved universities and colleges to completion of all teaching requirements. In exchange for schooling, participating paraprofessionals promise to teach for AVUHSD for a certain number of years subject to program requirements.
This program is dependent on continued funding, but has already produced several teachers for the AVUHSD.
