Messages
Mr. Stephen Ceraulo and his wife, Debra, have flown here from New York to be
part of our ITP program. Mr. Ceraulo is considered our long distance committee
member as he constantly helps us with his guidance as we are working on the
program. Mr. Ceraulo was one of the 1st on the scene when the 1st plane hit
the first tower on 9/11. Mr. Ceraulo is a recepient of 12 pre-hospital SAVE
awards, 9 letters of commendations, honoree at the 1st NYC emergency medical
service second chance breakfast, received Chief James Scullion medical medal
of honor and was awarded the world trade survivor ribbon for his actions on
9/11. He will be receiving “Special Recognition Peace Award”.
Deputy Myron McDonald has been a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff for almost
23 years. He worked the past 15 years in the SANE program, which is the Substance
Abuse Narcotics Education Unit. Deputy McDonald is a trained Drug Abuse Resistance
Education Deputy also known as the DARE program. He is a mentor and has taught
the DARE program in many schools throughout Los Angeles County.
Mr. T.J. Leyden was a former Neo-Nazi skinhead who reaches out to students to teach them to accept one another and make friends with people of different ethnic groups. T.J. is here today to give a hard look into the world of hate. As a former Neo Nazi Mr. Leyden learned to hate others because of their races and religions and how to manipulate youth, play on their insecurities and recruit them into a life led by hatred. Today he works to educate and spread a message of love, tolerance, acceptance and unity.
Moment of Silence is observed for all who have lost their lives to violence
End:
The ITP committee encourages you to remember that you too can do something to
reject anger and hate and instead promote peace and unity.
We leave you today with a quote by Edward Everett Halle:”I am only one, but I am one, I can not do everything, but I can do something, And I will not let what I can not do interfere with What I Can Do.
