For security purposes, the Antelope Valley Union High School District requires the written signature of author ization by the employee to release any type of employment information.  AVUHSD Personnel Office releases employment data in writing only.  You may fax the employee's signed authorization and your form, to the AVUHSD Personnel Dept at (661) 726-0673.  We will do a search of our database, fill out your form, and quickly fax a response to you.  We make every effort to IMMEDIATELY RETURN all requested verifications received during normal office hours. Please note: School Site staff are not authorized nor have access to provide valid employment verification information. All Requests must go through the Personnel Services Department. 

In order to ensure a speedy response: Do not forget to include your return fax number  AND  the employee's signed authorization. 

This would be a page the employee physically signed to authorize an employment/background check and is located somewhere in your standard credit application, home loan document, car loan document, employment application, rental/lease request, employment application, etc.  Electronic signatures/stamps are not valid.  



Sick Leave Balance Transfers/ Former AVUHSD teachers and employees: Your new school district may fax or mail in your authorization to release data along with their form and a SASE to request any sick leave balance to be transferred to them on your behalf and/or to verify your years of service, actual days worked, etc. Teachers put attention to Lori Hooper. Attention Law Enforcement: Official agency investigator may make appointment for a direct file review by calling Chris Jarrett at 661-948-7655 ext 247 in reference to current/former AVUHSD employees that have recently applied with a law enforcement, state or federal government agency with signed authorization for check as part of a standard emloyment application and/or any other official documentation process requiring government verification.  Please first fax the employee's signed authorization and your request form at least 24-hours IN ADVANCE whenever possible so we may locate the file AND reserve a conference room/office space for the review session.


Inactive/Archived Files:  Please note: requests for information on inactive or archived employees will require extra processing time. In order to facilitate your request, be sure to provide the full name of the employee as it was during their past employment with our district along with your document and his/her signed release. 


Hard Copy Response w/SASE  If you prefer, you may request a hard copy response of originals: you may mail the employee's signed authorization, your document, and a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to AVUHSD Personnel Services, 44811 Sierra Highway, Lancaster CA 93534.  We'll handle the request quickly! 


For audit purposes by lending companies, you may fax in any completed verification documents from the year of the loan such as a completed VOE along with instruments such as pay stubs ALONG WITH THE SIGNED RELEASE from the year of the loan. We can research those documents for authenticity and return the information to you.  For all other options, please see information above. Thank you. 

Please note we are unable to release data regarding protected information including but not limited leaves such as Family Medical Leave act as covered by applicable state and federal laws.

Garnishment Requests -  All garnishment requests are handled through the Los Angeles County Office of Education.  Call them directly for procedures at (562) 922-6874.
